    Dungeons and Dragons club members play one of the most popular and famous tabletop roleplaying games that takes them on adventures fighting monsters and discovering treasure!   • RHS Educators Rising Club

    Educators Rising at RHS is a chapter of the national organization Educators Rising, focused on working with students interested in education as a profession. Open to any RHS student interested in a career in education, this club provides members with knowledge of the various positions within education, helping them to learn more about teaching and to potentially discover their own area of interest. Members work within classrooms, hear guest speakers, and help with projects throughout the district to gain hands-on experience. Members will also participate in the Educators Rising competition held in March consisting of skill-based competitive events focusing on creativity, commitment, and professionalism.     Register here to join the new RHS Esports team! The fall season we'll be organizing, learning, and practicing to get ready for competition through the Michigan High School Esports League in the spring. Games to compete in are Smash, Rocket League, and League of Legends. Registration fee consists only of the $30 school club fee. Membership in Michigan High School Esports League is free!   • RHS FEDS: Falcon Engineering and Design Solutions FIRST Robotics Team

    The FEDS on the Rochester High School robotics team compete on a global scale in the areas of engineering, business, imagery, STEM outreach and safety. Our "Agents of Change" on the Falcon Engineering and Design Solutions (FEDS) team members participate in the FIRST Robotics competition by designing, building, wiring, and programming a competitive robot built according to season rules. In addition, Agents ensure that STEM education is accessible to as many interested students as possible. Agents work with mentors who are industry leaders in an array of fields, establishing skill sets and mentoring relationships that last for years to come. The FIRST community becomes a long-lasting network of connections for students that often lead to scholarships, internships, and career guidance. The FEDS are dedicated to the FIRST values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and is run solely by volunteer mentors. Parent participation is highly encouraged. Potential members are asked to complete an online application and read the additional information on participation requirements and deadlines. Meetings: Returning FEDS will continue meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 pm. New FEDS: There will be an info session for parents/students on Thursday, 9/7/23, 7-8 pm, in the RHS Media Center. This is an optional opportunity for prospective students/parents to learn more about the program. All FEDS: There will be a mandatory orientation for parents/students joining the team, in which a parent is required to attend. Orientation is required for all FEDS (new and returning, without exception). Orientation will be offered twice: Thursday, September 14, from 7-9 pm and Saturday, September 16, from 1-3 pm, both in the RHS Media Center. Team fees are payable by check/cash/Venmo (@stemunited). Our team meets every Tuesday and Thursday from September – December, from 6-9pm. Starting January, we meet M-Th, and Saturday until our competition season starts in March. During competition season, we meet as needed to meet team goals. We take a break in July and begin meeting again on Thursday evenings in Aug. See our tentative team schedule here.   • RHS French Club / French Honor Society 2023-2024

    French students have a lot of fun as they interact, take on creative projects, and celebrate French culture. Students have the option of joining Société Honoraire de Français. For membership in the honor society, qualifying students must: Be currently enrolled in French 2 or above with a grade of A- or above. Be a current member of the French Club. Have a B- grade average or better in all classes. Be an active participant in club activities. Applications for interested students are accepted at the beginning of 2nd semester through March.     German Club is all about celebrating Germanic culture, language, and traditions. Students create German-inspired art, celebrate German holidays, sing German songs, eat German food, and even watch German films. German NHS is a student-led service organization for German students in grades 10-12. Members meet monthly to discuss volunteer opportunities and community events. Members must be in German level 3 or higher with a GPA of 3.5 or above and complete a German NHS application. The club meets every other Wednesday at 2:40pm. starting Wed., Sept. 6th.     Girl Up was founded by the UN Foundation in 2010 and focuses on building leadership in girls, as well as self-confidence, personal accountability and long-term aspirations.     Affiliated with the international Girls Who Code organization, Girls Who Code is on a mission to grow the number of future female engineers, encourage young women to see the field of computer science as a fun and viable career choice, and spread their love of coding and STEM fields. Club members will be introduced to various programming languages and functions and will participate in individual and group coding projects. Members will be able to create or find their own project ideas to share. In addition, members will participate in opportunities to teach code to younger students and will learn about different career paths in programming. Sponsored by RHS computer science teacher Mrs. Reckling. The $30 club fee is a non-refundable district fee.

    The Green Club helps RHS maintain our Michigan Green School “Evergreen status” and leads our school in environmentally-friendly initiatives.     HOSA students work on their knowledge, technical skills, and leadership in the health sciences. Members also compete at the regional and state levels.     The Investment Club encourages students to broaden their knowledge about the business world and increase their financial literacy. Each week, they discuss a new topic about investing, trading, and market-related items to teach students about investing. Students hear lectures from guests in the field, and discuss establishing financial goals. Members also participate in stock trading competitions among each other using an online platform where they purchase and trade stocks. Sponsored by Mrs. Land.   • RHS Maker Club

    Maker Club is to be a collaborative space where students bring to life their creative designs using 3D printing, electronics, and programming. Whether you want to make planes, cars, keyboards, you name it, the sky is (literally) the limit! Students spend meetings designing their projects using CAD software like TinkerCAD or Onshape, manufacture them using 3D printing, electronics, and other materials, and bring them to life using programming. Throughout the year there will also be several challenges like making the farthest traveling car, making the farthest shooting catapult, and others. Sponsored by Mr. Campbell, meetings are held in room B130 on Mondays from 2:30-3:30. The $30 club fee is a non-refundable district fee.

    Model U.N. is the perfect club for students interested in politics or international relations. Students participate in simulations of U.N. conferences, role playing as U.N. ambassadors and researching, debating, and problem-solving current issues. The team participates in Oakland University's High School Model United Nations Conference where they are assigned a country and a relevant issue currently being discussed in the U.N.   • RHS National Technical Honor Society

    The RHS chapter of the National Technical Honor Society strives to encourage students to think about success differently and the various what technical and soft skills that can be learned throughout their years in Kindergarten -12th grade. Opportunities will be offered for members to mentor at the elementary and middle schools, support career fairs and job fairs at the high school level, and be innovators in our school community. Members are required to earn points by participating in various activities such as job and career fairs, Shark Tank competitions, tradeshows, manufacturers day, women in STEM career showcases, tech talks, Oakland Schools STEMI truck, Careers in a Box middle school program, and many more!     Purchase a student RHS parking pass here. Student parking passes are required to park in all RHS lots and are available only to students who have a current valid driver's license. To obtain one, follow these 3 steps: Fill out an RHS Parking Pass Information form. Complete payment on this page: Full-year pass: $105 2nd semester only pass: $55 Pick up your pass in the RHS Main Office from Mrs. Kimble. Have your driver's license with you to show in order to receive your pass. Displaying Your Pass: Make sure your parking pass is displayed in your vehicle each day you drive to school. Cost: $100 per student. Includes food, games, entertainment, and bus transportation from RHS to Legacy 925 and back to RHS. Last day to register: May 10, 2024.
