The Toledo Mud Hens are a minor league baseball team (Detroit Tigers affiliate). This is yet another opportunity for us to sing and show that West is Best! Barrymore 7th Grade Field Trip: 05.19.2025Field Trips7th Grade CJ Barrymore’s Amusement Park This experience is not only a fun day with our school community but a valuable extension of our current science unit, which focuses on the transfer of energy from one form to another. The primary goal of our unit is to explore how different forms of energy, such as kinetic and thermal energy, can be transformed and utilized. Our curriculum involves studying how energy is transferred and converted in various systems, such as generators and mechanical devices. At CJ Barrymore’s, students will see these principles in action through the amusement park rides. Date(s) of the event: May 19, 2025. Location: CJ Barrymore’s, 21750 Hall Rd, Clinton Twp., MI 48038. Cost: $31 or $33 per student. $31 per student includes the bus ride, a wristband for all attractions (excluding batting cages and the arcade), and lunch (all-beef hotdog, chips, and soda). For an additional $2, students may order cheese pizza instead of the hot dog. No charge for chaperones. Parents and Guardians can select their interest in being a chaperone in Eleyo while enrolling their student. All interested chaperones will be entered into a lottery and the science teacher will notify selected parents. iChat must be on file for the 2024-2025 school year. NewWest Carnival Market on 05.09.2025Field TripsWest - Carnival Market on 05.09.2025 Our Spanish 2 students will attend a field trip to Carnival Market, a vibrant grocery store offering a variety of fresh produce, Mexican specialties, baked goods, and a deli. During the trip, students will have the opportunity to explore the store, shop for food, and enjoy a delicious meal at the in-store restaurant. This hands-on experience will allow them to practice their language skills in a real-world setting and learn more about Mexican culture through food and shopping. West Music in the Parks Music Festival - Cedar Point: 05.17.2025Field TripsWest Music in the Parks Music Festival - Cedar Point: 05.17.2025 This year for our annual Cedar Point trip, the 7th and 8th grade choir will perform and have a clinic with Dr. Kenneth Thompson, music professor at Bowling Green State University. The performance and clinic will take place at Hotel Breakers, where the clinician will provide insight and feedback to help us continue to grow and strive for excellence. After the performance, we will walk right next door to Cedar Point when they open at 10:00am! In order to make this Music Festival a possibility, we must have close to 90% participation. We need to fill a 56 passenger motor coach - if we have more than 56 students/chaperones, some chaperones may need to drive separately. We will need many chaperones. If finances are at all a concern, please do not hesitate to contact me. Refund Policy: Please understand that given this is a school trip and we are not using a travel company; trip insurance is not available. Therefore, refunds cannot be guaranteed in the event you are no longer able to attend. If you are not able to attend the trip for any reason, you will still be responsible for the transportation cost. Date of the Event: Saturday, May 17, 2025 (5:45am meet @ West in back bus loop – 11:00/11:30pm Estimated arrival back to West).
