A Kids’ Art Series Where Imagination Takes the Lead including a BONUS PROJECT! Every young artist will design and paint a Kawaii character on a custom The Artist’s Apprentice zippered bag to take home!
Get ready to make, build, sculpt, design and paint! In More Art Please!, kids will dive into a collection of wonderfully unique projects while learning new artistic techniques and adding plenty of their own individual flair along the way. What Will We Create? Sculpt Your Own Mini Fantasy Figures Create adorable mini Labubu-inspired figurines and imaginative fantasy creatures using sculpting techniques and Model Magic clay. Pop Culture Food Models Go BIG! Design and construct giant 3D sweets, donuts and other playful food-inspired creations using papier-mâché, cardboard and foam. Identity Boxes: Create a one-of-a-kind portrait box that tells the story of YOU! Each side can represent a different interest, hobby or side of your personality. Kids will incorporate photos, beads, found objects, yarn art, dot painting, paint pours and even decorative handles. Design Your Own JellyCat-Style Amuseable Character What would YOUR irresistibly cute character look like? Students will develop working drawings, explore character design and turn their favorite ideas into a whimsical self-drying clay mock-up complete with fun embellishments. Did You Know? Studies have found that students who participate in arts education tend to have higher SAT scores and other positive academic outcomes. Art can encourage creativity, problem-solving, focus and confidence—all while kids are having fun! A Special Family Finale! Families are invited to a Gallery Show of Student Creations at 3:45 PM on the final day, where young artists can proudly display and share their finished artwork. Classes are 1 1/2 hours and there are 6 sessions. Please bring a water bottle and wear clothes that are not precious.
