Rochester Community Schools

The International Youth Neuroscience Association (IYNA) Club will be a student-led club focused on learning about the brain, nervous system, neuroscience, and neurological medicine. The goal of the club is to make neuroscience interesting and understandable through hands-on activities, discussions, guest speakers, and educational events. Some activities we plan to do include memory experiments, reaction-time testing, optical illusion investigations, sensory perception activities, brain anatomy models, neuroscience trivia, and other hands-on activities. We also hope to invite professionals such as neuroscientists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroscience nurses, and researchers to talk to members about their work and experiences. The club may also participate in neuroscience-related awareness events, including Brain Awareness Week in March and Neuroscience Nurses Week in May. We may also organize community service and fundraising projects related to neuroscience and brain health after receiving approval from the school.
