Short Description
West Scamp Walk Fundraiser and Games: 06.06.2025
Our Student Council is sponsoring an exciting end of the year celebration event for our students which will take place on June 6th! All students are welcome to take part in this celebratory day for a great cause. We’re raising money with our SCAMP walk fundraiser. All students will be able to walk on that day, but through the purchase of wristbands they will also be able to enjoy other fun activities such as a Free Throw Contests, Chalk Art, and Yard Games. All proceeds of the wrist band sales will be used to provide scholarship funds for students that wouldn’t financially be able to attend the camp. We encourage every student to donate towards a great cause and enjoy a great day of fun!
What is SCAMP? RARA SCAMP is a summer camp designed specifically for children and adults with special needs in the Greater Rochester Area. Each summer, 60+ campers attend this day camp for 6 weeks. This camp is licensed by the State of Michigan, requires a 3:1 staff to camper ratio, goes on field trips 2-3 times each week, and also is run out of a local Rochester Elementary School. The general cost out of pocket for families exceeds $1,100 per camper, with a deficit to RARA of close to $40,000 each year. Fundraising is necessary to help to offset this loss each year.
Students can contribute any amount to participate in the SCAMP walk. All proceeds will benefit our local Rochester SCAMP program and Special Needs Recreation Programs. Students can also bring cash/ check donations made out to RCS in at lunch time. We will be hosting a grade level competition to see which grade can raise the most money for a great cause!
