  • Filmmaking Workshop (4th & 5th Grade)

LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION! Join the Oakland University Filmmaking Workshop to explore the art of visual storytelling. Oakland University Film Studies & Production students and alumni will lead five, 2-hour sessions in which students will learn to write, storyboard, shoot, and edit a short movie. Through watching and discussing famous movie scenes from the silent era through current animated features, students will be introduced to visual storytelling concepts that they will then apply to their own work. Watching and making films can be a great way for kids to develop their analytical and creative abilities. This class is hosted at Meadow Brook Elementary but is open to 4th and 5th grade students at all 13 Rochester Community Schools’ elementary schools. All registrations must be made by 12pm/noon, 2 business days prior to the start date of the class. Classes that do not meet established minimums will have to be cancelled.
